Step by step
- Go to canva.com or install the Canva app.
- Click Sign up.
- Choose Continue with Google, Facebook, Apple or Microsoft, or choose Continue with email. Disposable email addresses aren't accepted.
- With email: enter your address and name and click Continue.
- Enter the code Canva sends to your inbox. You can set a password later in Settings.
- Canva asks what you'll use it for (e.g. personal). Pick one and you land on your home screen. Feel free to skip the Pro trial.
🔒 Privacy tips
- Go to Settings → Privacy preferences and check whether Canva may use your designs to train AI; switch it off if you prefer.
- Only want the free version? Careful with ‘Try Pro free’: after the trial you pay automatically unless you cancel.
- Turn on two-step verification in Settings → Login & security.
- Don't upload photos of ID cards or documents with personal data.
💶 Free or paid?
Free: Canva Free is always free, with lots of templates and a limited number of AI actions. Paid: Canva Pro costs €110/year for one person (Belgian price, October 2026), with a free trial. Check canva.com/pricing.
