Step by step
- Go to claude.ai or install the official Claude app by Anthropic.
- Choose Continue with Google or enter your email address.
- Using email? You get a sign-in link or code in your inbox: click it or enter the code (Claude works without a password).
- Enter your name and confirm you are 18 or older. Claude is for adults only.
- Enter a mobile number that can receive texts and type the six-digit code. This is required for new accounts; landlines and internet numbers don't work.
- Done: ask your first question.
🔒 Privacy tips
- Go to Settings → Privacy and check whether ‘Help improve Claude’ is on or off. Switch it off if you don't want your chats used for training.
- Use an incognito chat for sensitive questions.
- According to Anthropic, your phone number is only used for verification.
- Never share passwords, ID numbers, medical or bank details.
💶 Free or paid?
Free: Claude has a free version with a daily limit. Paid: Claude Pro costs about €18/month excl. VAT (around €22 incl. VAT), less if paid yearly. Max is for heavy users. Check claude.com/pricing.
